In a bid to curb misinformation on WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned company has introduced a new feature for forwarded messages. The idea is to clarify when the words in a message box are not those of the sender. Apparently, the label will not only be able to apply text but also to images, videos and audio messages. On a blog post announcing the new feature, WhatsApp said: "This extra context will help make one-on-one and group chats easier to follow. "It also helps you determine if your friend or relative wrote the message they sent or if it originally came from someone else."

WhatsApp testing a major new update aimed at saving you time and money

according to WhatsApp users have begun a trail of new payments service via the hugely popular app. The Facebook-owned company has been working on bringing a payments system to the app since last year and now almost one million people are testing it. Once WhatsApp fully implements the functionality it will rival the likes of Apple Pay Cash that allows users to send money peer-to-peer through iMessage. The feature has been in beta testing over the last few months and is finally in the hands of some users. A WhatsApp spokesperson revealed India is the testing hub for the new service that will allow users to seamlessly transfer funds into accounts.
