WhatsApp users on Vodafone can now update status, chat or in their most preferred language. WhatsApp and Vodafone India have teamed up to promote the use of local language on the widely used cross-platform messaging app. While the messaging app in India has over 200 million monthly active users, using 10 Indian languages. With these setting, switching to local language on WhatsApp chats on Vodafone carrier becomes simplified to few clicks. Vodafone's new interface designed in regional languages itself is built with an animated step-by-step guide for the changing default application language to different Indian languages while chatting.

To inform regional language users of the local languages on WhatsApp, Vodafone has created customized webpages in various Indian languages (Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil among others). The pages have an animated step-by-step guide displaying how to activate the option of changing to different Indian languages while chatting. Vodafone has tied up with WhatsApp to educate users on how to use local languages. We know it is very difficult and still we don't cross these barriers."This January, MediaNama held an open house discussion on the future of Indic languages online. Everything that comes bundled in a phone should, therefore, be available in all Indian languages.
