WhatsApp has been long expected to feature a recall option to let users recall sent messages. That said, WhatsApp is already believed to have done the spadework for enabling the recall feature. But latest report suggests that the feature is imminent on the iOS version. The iOS version was recently upgraded to version 2.17.30 which brought in photo filter options similar to that of in Snapchat. Similar features have already been made available in some of the rival messenger platforms.

Again, this feature is limited to only recently sent messages. The update also brings in new filters for photos, videos, and GIFs integrated into WhatsApp's camera for iOS. "WhatsApp has added in beta the possibility to edit messages that you already sent. Aside from that iOS users will now also see an album view when they send or receive five or more photos or videos. Additionally, WhatsApp may also be looking to bring back the 'Contacts' list tab, which was replaced by the new 'Status', though only for iOS users.
