The popular smartphone messaging service could finally be about to introduce the ability to RECALL messages after they've been sent. The latest version of WhatsApp currently in the Play Store is build 2.17.190. Version 2.17.30 has just been released on Apple's App Store, but Recall doesn't appear to have been enabled yet, which suggests that WhatsApp's developers are still testing it. When asked on Twitter whether it thought WhatsApp would enable Recall in the current version of the app, WABetaInfo replied:WhatsApp may be waiting for version 2.17.30 to hit the Google Play store, so that it can launch Recall on both iOS and android simultaneously. (Photo: Brais Seara/Getty)The feature, which is known as Recall, is included in the code for version 2.17.30 of the app, according to WABetaInfo , a fan site that tests new WhatsApp features early.
The 'recall' feature will be available for text messages, video, audio, pictures, GIFs, quoted messages, documents and even status replies. Additionally, WhatsApp has also included the possibility of editing sent messages on the platform, but the feature will only be available for recent messages. The website clarified that the 'recall' feature is a speculative alteration, which might come into effect soon. A reply shortcut was introduced for iOS users, wherein one can swipe right to reply to a message. Further, iOS users can now addfilters to the pictures, videos and GIFs taken from WhatsApp camera.
