as informed in However in the latest beta for android , it has been discovered that chat pinning is a feature that could be arriving soon. Pinning chats and topics in messenger applications isn't exactly a new feature. According to The Android Soul, it appears that chat pinning will work for both individual and group chats. If you do chat with a lot of people and don't want to have certain threads lost, then this is a useful feature to have. However for some reason the feature was missing from WhatsApp and we guess the closest you could get to that was in the form of starred messages.
