If you've any doubt over just how big the messaging app WhatsApp has become, just settle for a moment to digest that fact that it had 1.2 billion active users in January 2017. A useful little feature you can utilise is to quote somebody's original message, much like you quote a tweet on Twitter. Hide the "last seen" message on your profileDo you want to be a little bit sneaky? But you can actually turn off the last seen message that appears across the top bar in your WhatsApp so no one knows when you were last online. Did you know you can use bold, italics and strikethroughs on WhatsApp?
In your phone's WhatsApp app, go to Settings > WhatsApp Web/Desktop and scan the barcode on the desktop app. You can choose to send your "status" to all your WhatsApp contacts, contacts "except," or select a specific list of contacts. Stop photos and videos you receive in chats (WhatsApp media) from automatically downloading onto your phone and taking up precious space. Go to Settings > Chats > Chat backup Of course, you can set it to auto backup on a daily, weekly, or monthly. Use WhatsApp on your computer just like you do on your phone with the web app "WhatsApp for Desktop."
You can get away with screenshotsUnlike Snapchat, WhatsApp does not alert you when a contact takes a screenshot of your Status. Here are the basics:To view a Status uploaded by your friend, open the Status tab. You are given three options:My Contacts : All of your WhatsApp contacts can view your Status. You'll know if you have access to Status on iOS when the Contacts tab gets replaced with a camera icon (see photo above), and the far-left tab reads "Status." Android users will see a new Camera icon to the left of the Chats tab, next to a new Status tab.
