(NASDAQ:FB) owned Instagram introduced a clone feature Instagram Stories, similar to Snapchat Stories.Now, the social media giant is again walking the same path by adding this same feature to WhatsApp, this time dubbed as "Status."WhatsApp is reportedly testing a feature akin to Instagram Stories, a feature copied initially from Snapchat Stories.The new project was mined in recent beta releases of both android/" target="_blank">android/" target="_blank">Android and iOS versions of the voice calling and instant messaging app, WhatsApp.

WhatsApp: The Facebook-owned company is currently testing the new interface with a tab 'status' which updates the tab to the interface after adding a 'Camera tab' to the new interface along with Video calling.This 'Status' update is not a new addition to the WhatsApp where it has long existed with the launch of the WhatsApp in the year 2009.However, it is known that the Facebook company has owned the WhatsApp which had addthe new sharing images with the contacts for a limited period.

First, it was Facebook's Instagram that copied the Stories Feature from Snapchat, and they were pretty transparent about and did dodge away from the fact and they also went ahead to call it as Stories too.Then it was discovered that the Facebook Messenger is testing a similar feature which was called the Messenger Day.Now, it doesn't come quite as a surprise when Facebook's WhatsApp is the next in line to copy and adda similar feature.
