Russian cybersecurity companies have a greenlight to decrypt traffic of such popular communication tools as Viber, WhatsApp, Skype and Facebook Messenger, a popular business daily reports.The measure is connected to a recently-adopted anti-terrorism law."We are going to look into the main messengers — WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Skype both for iOS and Android," Kommersant cites a letter from an employee of Con Certeza, a company dealing with the development of tools necessary for enforcing law in the telecommunications field.

The adoption of a controversial new anti-terrorism measure called Yarovaya Law in Russia has led to security companies in the country being given the green light to hack a number of popular messaging services, including Skype, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.The Russian newspaper Kommersant has reported that the security firm Con Certeza has developed a number of tools which allow it crack encrypted communications.The company often works closely with the country's law enforcement agencies and its tools will not only be utilised to decrypt internet traffic but will also be used to deploy man-in-the-middle attacks.

RUSSIAN SECURITY COMPANIES have been given the green light to hack messaging services including Facebook Messenger, Skype and WhatsApp following the adoption of a controversial anti-terrorism measure known as Yarovaya Law.A report in Russian newspaper Kommersant said that Russian security outfit Con Certeza, which works closely with the country's law enforcement agencies, has developed various tools to crack encrypted communications.The tools will enable the agencies not just to decrypt and read the traffic, but to deploy man-in-the-middle attacks against users.
