RAIPUR: A doctor from Pathalgaon in tribal Jashpur district has been arrested for allegedly circulating WhatsApp posts in a group, which few Hindi organisations termed as objectionable and claimed to have hurt sentiments of the community.Police said they have received complaints from certain groups demanding action against Dr George Lakra, who had allegedly posted some objectionable content on a whatsapp group, referring to the occasion of Dusshera.Jashpur district superintendent of police Girijashankar Jaiswal said a group of youth came to police station and lodged a complaint against Dr Lakra.We have registered a FIR and arrested the doctor on the charges under IPC 292 for circulating malicious content and under 153 IPC for Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion.In their complaint, local organisations pointed out that circulating such material on social media has hurt the sentiments of the majority community and they were also disturbing the social fabric of the society.For the last one month, there have been several incidents of social media posts creating tension in different parts of the state.Prohibitory orders under section section 144 of CRPC had to be imposed in Mungeli town recently after a facebook post sparked tension .
