It appears that the next update of WhatsApp on Android will include a feature that enables you to send animated videos as GIFs.Animated GIFS are now hugely popular and the huge social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter already allow users to send and receive GIFs.

It seems like with a future update, WhatsApp will bring you the option to send videos as GIFs.Without having to root your device, that is.
