BMC releases engineers' WhatsApp numbers for potholes complaints
MUMBAI: The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday published a fresh list giving out mobile numbers of road engineers in every ward where citizens can raise pothole related complaints. This however comes after the BMC on July 22 this year published the personal mobile numbers of roads engineers in the newspaper without their consent.Several civic road engineers raised grave objection to this and some of them even wrote to the BMC higher administration objecting to it as they started getting messages on WhatsApp from citizens on 'random' issues and not only potholes on roads. The BMC then decided to provide the engineers with new mobile numbers where citizens can complain and also made it clear that the earlier list is adjourned. However this time the list of mobile numbers was provided without any names of any road engineers.
